True to my Saturn return, I’m on a search to redefine what it is I’m doing with my life.  After 5 years of being a birth doula- helping women explore options for childbirth and supporting them through birth- and 2 years apprenticing to become a homebirth midwife, it became clear to me that the on-call lifestyle and heavy responsibility weren’t the right path for me anymore. The experiences I had doing this work is some of the most beautiful and  powerful moments I think I’ll ever have in my life. I have learned so much, made life-long friends and know if /when it’s time for me to have babies it will be at home.

I’m happy to stay connected to my community by teaching prenatal yoga at Kriya Yoga Center (Denver) and Sweet Beginnings (Littleton) and attending births as a doula here and there for repeat clients and friends.

So now I find myself having to reexamine which way to go. It’s exciting in one sense to see the potential in front of me, but also difficult to feel that I have to figure it all out again.

Hence the motivation for this amazing trip. I believe the experience doing the yoga training, traveling by myself, working with kids in Cambodia, and just creating some quiet in my mind will help it all become more clear. And, well, maybe I’ll have some fun too.
